Major Gifts Director

The American Red Cross is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Director. As the Director, the primary responsibilities will include generating revenue through major gift donors for the American Red Cross of Southwest Texas Region, fulfill personal solicitation of assigned major donor portfolio, and conduct thorough prospect research for potential major gifts donors. The Major Gifts Director will cultivate and steward major contributors, manage major gifts campaigns (including the Clara Barton Society and Tiffany Circle recognition program) and will work collaboratively with Development staff on the Clara Barton Society program. General responsibilities include preparing annual Major Gifts plan, strategies and revenue flow for donors and prospects. Requirements include BS/BA in business, non-profit management, marketing, and communications or a similar field or relevant equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of documented fundraising experience including major gifts and must possess a thorough working knowledge and understanding of general and major gift fund raising practices, trends and issues. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) is required. Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
